Hypothetical Metallica Question

For people to think that if Cliff were still alive, they would have kept releasing albums like MOP is ridiculous. If Kirk wouldn't have switched bunks with Cliff, and would have been the one that died, everyone would be saying "What if Kirk was still alive? What would he think of this?" and so on.

Thats a question that's impossible for me to answer. Yeah Cliff was hardcore but then again so was Lars & James back in the day. We'll never know what could have been.

I never suggested that they would still be making albums like Master of Puppets. All I am getting at is how you would feel about Metallica if Cliff Burton was still in the band. Yes it is a what if question, but it's a reasonable question to ask.

If Metallica was still acted like little spoiled brats, while at the same time not having put out a decent song in over a decade, I'd be tired of them no matter who was in the band.

If Anthrax ever acts this way, God forbid, and stopped making great music, God forbid, then I would become sick and tired of them, too.

I´m afraid it´s out of the question. I heard Cliff never was a hardcore thrashhead, anyway. He used to listen to much softer music than the rest of the band. Jason was much more into heavier style than him. Maybe if he hadn´t died they would have recorded a Load-like album in 1988.

I wasn't refering to you. I understood your question. I was talking about the people who think the change in musical styles would have never happened if Cliff were still alive. Saying things like "Cliff would be rolling over in his grave if he heard what they're playing now.", when he was actually into all different styles of music and would have probably wanted a change of pace as well.

Saw an old picture of Lars, I'm assuming around '85. He was wearing the classic Armored Saint shirt, black with white sleeves and the Saint logo on it (I used to have that shirt). DUDE can't be all that bad........he at least knows good music when he hears it (must not have listened to Load/Reload before they were released).

Every day brings us closer to the new release!!!!!!!
