Coincidentally, I just got back from dinner, where we had a sushi bar, staffed by some little japanese chefs from some outside catering company, where they had wasabi sauce stuff to put on your sushi. I didn't try any though, just stuck with the good old soy.

it's really funny if you take non-japanese people to a sushi bar for the first time and tell them that the huge pile of wasabi next to the fish flesh is a "dessert."

then they shove the whole thing in their mouths, and boy it is funny to watch their eyes!

i always have to get extra wasabi, because i make the soy-wasabi mixture green and cloudy with the amount i put in. yum.

My friend did exactly that at dinner with the soy-wasabi. He offered some to me, but I declined.
