I wouldn't have anything against COB making their most melody-oriented album. These days they're shy to make much of that cos they probably think it makes them less metal. But I think feelingful leads should be a top choice over technical riffing any day.

Alexi grew up listening to Skid Row and Mötley Crue, I grew up listening to this kinda stuff, as well as some animes with incredibly feelingful soundtracks. Needless to say why I enjoy atmosphere and epic leads.
