all I can say is

what's the big fuckin deal, bitch? this album's kind of BORING. Maybe I need to listen to it on headphones and some w33d.

i have to be honest here. i watched the video for "god of emptiness" when i was home last time and i thought maybe i might like it now that i am far removed from the overly chrisitian attitude i had towards metal when i was in high school.

but you know what. i really didn't like it all that much.

They're not my style of death metal, they're a little too simple and boring for my tastes.

If you have this problem too, listen to some Necrophagist.

I loved MA growing up.

Especially Covenant...I can't really think of a better death metal album.

Blessed is great though...I ove the atmosphere of that album and the Rutan solos.

As for the Nile's and Behemoth's of the world...I was kind of into it when it started happening..all that ultra brutal ultra technical stuff...but now it's like....eh...

Like I'm listening to the new Nile and it's like...there is nothing that makes death metal rule on this record that wasn't already covered on Morbid Angel - Covenant....except that everything is ridiculously faster and sounds now.

honestly, the only death metal release I'm looking forward to anymore is something new from Gorguts.

Altars of Madness is pretty neat stuff.

IAK!!! IA!! SAKKAKTH!! IA!! SAKKAK!! IA!! SHAXUL!!

IA!! KINGU!! IA!! CTHULU!! IA!! AZABUL!! IA!! AZUBUAAAA!!!

..er, I think that's how it goes...

I love Morbid Angel, Domination is probably my favorite death metal album ever.

Oh yeah and I've played Desolate Ways so many damn times on acoustic guitar that every time I play the first 3 notes my friends say "oh jeez shut up dude." Good times.

I must be the only guy that likes Gateways most from the MA catalog. Generally not my kind of band. Covenant is I think, their most technical they ever got? I don't really like Nile and the whole ultrafast ultrabrutal thing, although I was very impressed by Origin. But I can't listen to that record for more that one song at a time. It sort of all sounds the same. This happens with MA, as a band with a very concrete style, they just play the same song over and over again and you get to pick the takes you like most.
