You know what pisses me off? Kanye is right about "rap is the new rock'n'roll" thing. Here in russia we have a tv channel called A1 which originally stood for "first alternative channel" that used to be about rock, metal, alternative, underground music from all over the world. Then a hip-hop producer took over it. We have a radio station called Ultra that was all about modern alternative and mainstream, it went bankrupt and now broadcasts on some odd frequency that's not available on most radio receivers.
Nobody listens to rock music, man. Underground shitty rap shows draw more public than underground rock and metal shows. Kanye West is rock star #1.
