I feel like I can relate to Avi just a little better now.

All I know was my bed was shaking any my roommate was yelling at me. It was like, "Ben! Are you feeling this? My chair is moving and the fridge is shaking, what the hell is going on??!"

My response: "What the fuck, I'm asleep!"

Yeah, the funny thing is that my roommate thought for a second that it was the room below us playing some massively bass-heavy music or something. But no, it turns out it was a 100+ mile radius earthquake.

I'm kind of disappointed by the fact that nothing, and I really mean NOTHING fell over - not even my toothbrush, which is prone to falling off of the shelf I keep it on at the drop of a hat.

I guess there's a fault line along the James River or something. There was an earthquake nearby during the summer too, but I didn't feel it at my house (100 miles west of Richmond), so I'm guessing it was a lot smaller.

Funny thing is, I was joking around with my out-of-state friends that the only thing we were missing this semester was an earthquake, considering we had a hurricane and a tornado within a week of each other. I figured since there just was one, we wouldn't likely have one anytime soon.

I was wrong I guess.
