To the sweet ass tone of EMG. I can't understand how anyone ever claled these pickups sterile? They are OVERSATURATED with TONE pouring from the speakers. As far as me and metal are concerned, emgs are the only way to go. I'm never using sterile dimarzios again. ok sorry for that rant but im so excited, god damn emg RULES!!! Not hard into put in at all Toshiro, just stuck the battery clip in backwards the first try :tickled:

heres a photo of my guitar now, with those sweet ass 81 bricks in there.

in my opinion if u r a good player you'll get the good tone out of the shitties pickup(shawn lane used to play with dimarzio PAf.Pf is not a strong pickup at all)

Not True, actually quite ridiculous. Tone and skill are completely different. James murphy uses emgs, go rag on him too haha. Note i never said dimarzios are "shitty", just sterile, and its my opinion. I think in metal, you want the highest output, least noise, sharpest attack, and quick response, because when it coems down to it, metal is fast, and must be played with precision.

For some reason I can't picture Opeth using EMGs . I'm glad to hear most metalheads are content with saying EMGs are the be all and end all of most metal tone... makes people's job a little bit easier in terms of knowing what to buy. There are too many different gear opportunities out there even without having to convolute the buying process by figuring out what pickups to use in a guitar!

Well why would you want EMGs then? They have to be one of the noisiest pickups I have heard. Pick up hum from all over the place

sure they do... if you have them wired wrong. mine are wired correctly.. no hum or noise at all.. not even with a high gain amp.
