10/13 THU NO SCHOOL YOM KIPPUR

it's awesome to have the time off but it also totally fucks with lessons for almost a MONTH!

I got a day off for Rosh Hashanah one year in high school when we had a jewish kid there. He was actually half-jewish, I think, but they decided it was worth the day off anyway.

In Tampa we got Jose Gasparilla day off.

We never got Martin Luther King day off. I went to an essentially all white highschool but we had a very small minority.

in boston they give you St Patrick's Day off, but they have to call it "evacuation day" to hide that it's an ethnic holiday.

I used to take of for eastern orthodox christmas and new years and that was awesome.
