Got "reduced" this morning. I get paid through the 24th and also for my 11 vacation days. Then it's off to the unemployment office with me. I was waiting for this since about last summer. It was never a matter of if, but when. I made it through 2 staffing reductions in the past 2 months. Not so lucky this time. Oh well. Such is life.

The axe keeps falling here, but somehow it always seems to just miss me. Of course, each time it falls it means more work for me with 0 extra compensation. *sigh*

I definitely feel your pain too, man.
It's incredibly tough out there- i looked for almost a year to find a job in stl before moving. my brother-in-law lost his job nov 01 and is still working temp jobs. another friend got taken into Accenture's training program (formerly Anderson consulting- changed their name assumably after enron & arthur anderson), went through the whole program and after the last day the program, they let the entire class (like 20-something ppl) go.

Good luck, man. Hope you find something soon.

Actually I've been trying to record some tunes for the last month and I never had enough time. That's all I was thinking about as I was getting fired. I'm glad I wasted enogh money on gear while I was working.

i've scraped by for 8 months now, so it's not the end of the world. hopefully your u/e benefits will suit you well.

if you can put off getting employment for a few months and work on your own stuff, you can turn this all into a gainful experience...

I was actually hoping this would hold off till sometime closer to summer. My lease runs till August and I kinda wanted to move back to Madison. That still might be a possiblitie. I'll just have to work on it. All I have to do is remember my college training. How I got through school without working and stuff. I never borrowed money from the rents either. I remember something about mac and cheese and really cheap hot dogs and raman noodles.
