It's all good brother man!!! I like Euro Power Metal but many more styles besides. Music is all subjective and what the listener get's out of it.

Hell..many years ago I couldn't listen to Black Metal and now I do all the time..from Venom

For me Black Metal started and finished with Venom .

I think Episode, Visions & Destiny are excellent. Rest of their catalog is pretty lackluster. Kotipelto's first solo album was great (lots of help from Michael Romeo!).

It's funny because the only stratovarius I could get into was the 2 elements discs.

Elements 1&2 are king IMO...

Finally listened this cd. Lyrics are a bit weak in places, but the band is in good form. Not quite on par with their best, but seems to be better then the past several. Good to see them moving beyond the Tolkki soap opera.

I liked the two Elements albums and a few of their earlier works. Beyond that, they did nothing for me.

You liked that one? It's not as bad as the UDO and Nevermore covers on the same Judas Priest tribute, but frankly nothing spectacular.

Some of the best were Helloween, Fates Warning, Gamma Ray's Exciter and Devin Townsend.

The Doom Squad track was quite interesting too.

Yeah I hate that voice over shit. A buddy of mine sent me this italian deathcore band called Modern Age Slavery and most of the tracks had that crap on it. Drives me nuts.

From those two albums which IMO are the best JP tributes so far (and I have quite some), volume 1 didn't did as much for me as volume 2 (also I have the European version, the black and the blue ones) my faves are:

Testament, Doom Squad, Overkill, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, and above them all Skyclad and Heavens Gate.
