YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:rock::rock::rock:

James Rolfe can gargle my turds.

Without cheating? I never managed to do that. I have a friend who beats the NES Super Contra on the last difficult level without dying, it´s pretty awesome to watch.
I´ve been completing many ultra hard 8-bit games on my PSP since they started releasing emulators with rewind function (not save/load states, real time rewind).

I beat Ninja Gaiden I on NES as a kid, but it took the better part of my Summer vacation to do it. Great game, but the functions they added in the sequels made for a less frustrating experience.

I actually found the sequel to be way more frustrating, like the wind level and some of the enemies are just ridicoulus. Also the fact that whenever you get hit, you fly atleast twice as long as in the first game so now it's really a case of "every possible thing that hits you knocks you into a pit" ARGH

Ok seriously, after a full day of playing I will state that The Dark Sword Of Chaos is infinintly harder then the first one. The life bar essentially becomes worthless since every fucking little thing knocks you 20 feet back into a goddamn pit, so you die everytime you get hit anyway! And the damn enemies, ARGH

That game is beyond frustrating. Seriously. Even the new ones are way too fucking hard. They should throw in a "I have a life and can't spend years mastering bullshit controls ,cheap enemies and glitches" mode

The thing is that they are (at least to me) the perfect balance of frustrating and enjoyable. Sometimes I just want to kick the shit out of everything in reach, but I keep coming back to it again and again cause it's so much fun.

Isn't that called the Game Genie? ;)

I got the inspiration to play old NES games too a while ago. Last weekend I played through SMB 3, no warps. That game is so good it should be illegal. Probably is somewhere, for all I know.

Now I'm practising Punch Out, Bald Bull is kicking my ass. :mad:

I dunno once a game becomes frustrating to me I just turn it off , I have better things to do than freak the fuck out and throw controllers and shit , I mean there's nothing wrong with a challenge but those games are just sadistic. Games are supposed to be FUN , not stressful. If I buy a game I should be able to see the goddamn ending. I bet the people that created it never even fucking play tested it , I'd like to see them assholes beat it

If you want a challenge try TMNT original for NES. Or rather don't. Game is impossible and has the shittiest , non-canon ending ever. Splinter was a human?! WTF

P.S. how the fuck did they expect LITTLE KIDS to beat this ?! I spent years of my childhood trying because I loved the turtles

On the 1987 cartoon Splinter was a human transformed into ratt. Maybe the game was based on that cartoon.
