Not many people can understand the love I have for chips and hot sauce. My friends are baffled at how quickly I scream Mexican when asked what type of restaurant I want to eat at. There is almost nothing better. nothing.
Uhh that's kind of close to Boston. Or not. When I'm up there this summer I will DEFINITELY check it out though as Mexican restaurants are on the top of my hierarchy of places to eat. The list is organized by which type of restaurant gives free food to start eating immediately upon arrival.
Also Boston trip will still be centered around a Kayo Dot show. Awesome.
this is the second time this week that the quality of boston-area taquerias has been evident.
the first: while watching a second hand purchased limited edition cave in - antenna cd with bonus dvd containing footage of the band in london chanting "Burrito burrito burrito..." and exclaiming how hard it was to find a burrito in London.
hey eric, you should look into buying a tortilla press. homemade tortillas are super easy and cheap and so much better than (most) store-bought ones. Not to mention they'll lack all the creepy preservatives n stuff.
alex- those sound like wimpy burritos! in chicago, it's STEAK ALL THE WAY. of course the frequency of heart attacks in that city is probably triple the norm.
avi- yeah, i've seen them do it on tv cooking shows several times. if i could find one at a mexican yard sale, i'd get it. are they cheap?
yeah, most of the chicken i've tried at chicago ones has been real stringy and bland, so spices would make it better. the one time i went to a supposed taqueria here in StL and asked for a steak burrito, they looked at me and said "Que?" IT WASN'T ON THE MENU. i got a $5 burrito filled with rice and beans. BUNCH OF CRAP.
