Alright, I am currently working on a one man extreme (black/death) metal project. This is all being done in my apartment so i am relying on various drum samples to create the desired effect in the drum department. So far I am content with almost everything I've found (except for......the snare.) Here are the issues I'm coming up with regarding the snare, although some samples sound alright in the slower parts, once the speed picks up the very overtones, excess snare buzz or unnecessary reverb tails start popping out like a sore thumb and since I am a rank amateur at anything studio related (other than just recording in one.) I have no idea how to deal with this and it is driving me INSANE. Just trying to achieve a nice tight snare sound. Something like this would definitely do the trick.
