I have a 5 year old pair of Doc Martens and a 2 year old pair of New Balance running shoes which are starting to make funny noises as I walk. I need some new god damn shoes. Choose them for me.

NONE of those.

How about...

I buy shoes when the ones I'm wearing start to give up on me, and then I always (quite naturally) choose shoes from the viewpoint of comfort and practicallity. Not by looks which I assume is what you mostly pay for with shoes such as the ones you posted :p (and besides most of them look silly)

@Henrik: shoes like that are under consideration (tho not as flashy), I've owned many a Vans and Airwalk in the past, how do DC and DVS compare?

People always tell me to buy new shoes because mine are falling apart, but they're damn comfortable, and I consider the gaping holes in the front as added ventilation!

One of my shoes has a huge hole in the bottom and the other has some kind of bladder that squeezes out air with every step and makes me sound asthmatic. So I suppose I need new shoes too.

well kinda true except for the calling you a gay homo part...actually not true, when the weather's nice i wear sandals a lot, living in california half the year. too bad it's raining...in california.....in mid-may. wtf. out come the boots.

I wear a pair of black steel-toe Dr. Martin boots. They will probably last for my entire life, so they were worth every single penny. Complete quality.

Best. Footwear. Ever.

docs indeed rule. i've had these for 4 years now and don't plan on replacing them EVER.
they only get more comfortable over time

The DC shoes I currently have are amongst the best pairs of shoes I've ever owned. Extremely comfortable (most skating shoes are). You can't go wrong with DC.

Surely not as gay as my spring/summer shoes?

My Docs aren't stinkin! They are beat to shit and have been with me for nearly every mountain/stream/desert excursion over the past 5 years, and I still use them for "dress" shoes if I just clean them up a little bit.

That's why even though the first choice are $115, they'd be worth it. Docs are just plain tough shoes.

Quoted for 100% truth. I considered wearing these boots to prom (after an obviously needed polishing) but I just decided to wear some of my brother's old shoes (also Docs).
