Winter approaches and I was thinking of stocking up on infamous yet spellbinding sweeties. I want only the best! Throw your recommendations: I'm open to anything ranging from Xasthur to Deathspell Omega.

Actually I was eyeing on Clandestine Blaze's "Fist of the Northern Destroyer" and Deathgate Arckanum's "Totenwerke". Any opinions on those to start with?

Some recommendations for thee:

1349 - Beyond The Apocalypse (icecold, fast and intense, but repeated listens will reveal fantastic melodies hidden underneath the "blasty" surface. Henrik Main's record 2004 record of choice)

Tsjuder - Desert Northern Hell (the riffs are a tad more death metal-orientated than 1349's, but the two bands are pretty much in the same street. Excellent stuff, a masterpiece. Henrik Main's 2004 record of choice no. 2)

Lunar Aurora's "Mond" is also an absolutely ass-kicking record, same goes for Averse Sefira's "Tetagrammatical Astygmata".

Ondskapt - Dödens Evangelium.
I mean, it can't get truer than an intro consisting of several goats sounding like...goats.

It's just been rereleased, Decadent has it, ask him where he found it if he returns from this fishing trip. I might do a trade with you when I "inherit" his CD collection if you're still interested.

Actually, I do totally endorse this one. You probably won't be able to find a copy of For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike anywhere, but if you can download it, do so. I think that's all their material. Furthermore, does anyone know anything about this band? They're pretty mysterious and fucking unr00ly.

You shouldn't have asked about more Kvist info, because the COLD HARD FACTS ruin the mysterious image. The Kvist members went on to form the moderately successful Norwegian electronica band Xploding Plastix, they're quite popular in trendy electronica circles :erk:

 ouch

are there any electronica bands that go on to become moderately succesfull in trendy black metal circles?

this thread is making me realise how little i care about black metal these days. hopefully it's just a phase, 'cause i used to love me some corpse painted jesus-bashing!

common knowledge tbh

i dont see why that should ruin kvist though, i mean look at what members of Ulver, Thergothon or In the Woods... do nowadays

Dimmu Borgir just re-released "Stromblast". I imagine this will be at the top of everyone's shopping list around these parts.

We've discussed it already. Everyone here who loves the original album is crying vomiting and wanting to send letter bombs to Dimmu because they took away everything that was good about it.

yet the rest of the internet seems to praise it 'cause it's all cleaned up and "easier" to listen to. over at braveboards everyone was goin crazy for it.

ive only heard the original once, so what do i know? nothing. that's right, as usual.

The rest of the Internet is full of idiots though. The RC board is the last outpost of intelligence in the world (mainly due to me frequenting it)
