I need some really outstanding Trve BM!

The rest of the Internet is full of idiots though. The RC board is the last outpost of intelligence in the world

You know, sometimes I really do think there's a bit of truth to that.

Otherwise thanks all for your advice. I've checked that Fullmoon demo. It being compared to Graveland almost scared me away (*figures J. grinding his teeth into powder*) but there's much to enjoy in this recording. The sound of the mp3s was laughable, but that's fine by me if the actual rerelease sounds any close to them.

I'm not too crazy about Kvist to be honest. I mean it's solid, thoughtfully-crafted music and all but an album like Obtained Enslavement's "Witchcraft" makes it look rather pale.

Also I've been intending to check out Tsjuder for a while and will do so shortly.

Keep the names flowing, guys!

We've discussed it already. Everyone here who loves the original album is crying vomiting and wanting to send letter bombs to Dimmu because they took away everything that was good about it.

EEEEP. Wrong answer. I love both versions because I don't care about such things as trve and sellout.

"The Pagan Mountain" is possibly one of the best black metal songs ever recorded. Seriously.

I just got myself Kvist - For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike on vinyl, it was released by Perverted Taste 2003, so that might still be available some distro, I got it with 14€. Good stuff, no question about it, but damn this old Dimmu Borgir is good (Stormblåst).

Good for you... I should get this.

And yes, Stormblast is the best album ever.

I think I'll get the re-recording

Yes, I ought to give Hate Forest more than a peripheric listen. I own "Battlefields" and enjoy it fully, but it displays their "mellower" profile as far as I understand. Back in the "old" days I had got a cd-r copy of "The Most Ancient Ones" but discarded it real quick, I might want to try it again with today's ears.

Try some Hate Forest, don't know how Grimm or Trve it is, but I enjoy it muchly.

Particularly the albums:

Purity
Sorrow
To Twilight Thickets
To Those Who Came Before Us

and to a lesser extent

Scythia (the reissue has To Those Who Came Before Us as a bonus)
Blood & Fire

and to an even much lesser extent

The Most Ancient Ones
The Gates

</hate forest fanboy>

I have had my Stormblast CD for a pretty long time, but I'm still on a quest for the original vinyl copy....

I meant the Kvist cd, that was available in Northern Silence.

Well I thought "To Twilight Thickets" was comprised of their ambient work, innit? So...

"The Curse" demo (the far superior, better, rawer, faster version of The Most Ancient Ones) + "Temple Forest" demo (ambient stuff) which also rules. So yeah, I suppose that was contradictory.
