I don't know what subgenres bands like to be called these days.

I need more of this.

Damn that was cool. Closest I can think of is Mendel - Oblivion (although that is instrumental) or by extension his band Aborted.

You might also try technical death metal like Ouroboros, Gorod, Beyond Creation, obscura

I'm liking about 90% of this Mendel album. Instrumental is totally fine.
