I like it because it fits into everything. like, balloons! Grandfather clocks… and it’s also such an enigma because on the one hand, it’s so OBVIOUS, like It’s just the ratio of a circle's circumference divided by its diameter. On the other hand… It’s been calculated out to a million digits! It’s so pretty because it’s endless and also, not only does it rule with circles, it can totally exist without them…. and it’s irrational.
 
I like fractal stuff for the same reason, actually. Like, you can accurately represent icebergs and stuff in art just by using a computer-iterated math equation? AWESOME!

anyway, josh, there are many aspects of the work fibonacci did. here is a nutshell:
The Fibonacci numbers are 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ... (add the last two to get the next)
The golden section numbers are ±0·61803 39887... and ±1·61803 39887...
The golden string is 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 ...
a sequence of 0s and 1s which is closely related to the Fibonacci numbers and the golden section.
 
yea pi is cooler definitely but fibonacci is really neat because it is so coherent with nature. like it almost DEFINES nature (or any sort of order therein) i remember my grandfather showing it to me and showing me a sunflower when i was reallllllly little and i was totally like THIS RULES!

the syllables of the verses are in the fibonacci sequence.

The song speaks of spirals.....and I read on this site that if you follow the golden ratio and connect some kind of angles (not a math homo obviously) you get perfect spirals...it's pretty tripped out.
