Iced Earth = Testament?

Anyone really noticed the similarities to Testament?

The guitar playing is alot alike. Atleast the rythems. Testament have/had better leads. The lettering in the band names look alike. Song titles are the same... Burnt Offerings, Disciples of the Lie/Watch, Burning Times, etc...

Dont get me wrong. Iced Earth is my favorite band. But it does seem like alot of stuff was borrowed from Testament.

Yeah, I am sure Jon was influenced by Testament's 80s stuff when he was younger. I have noticed the similarities in the riffing after listening to heaps of IE, then listening to 80s Testament. Its all good though, both bands rock, and it is good to take good influences from other great bands. It is not like he is downright ripping them off.
