if there is a God then i can thank that dork for Testament

LOL!! Sonnenritter that was hilarious!!

Whenever I see 'too-tight' jeans, I immediately call them "Thrash metal jeans"!!

"Hey, I ran into that guy....I cant remember his name, but he always wears his stone washed thrash metal jeans"

The hightops with the thrash metal jeans always cracked me up too. I could never understand people preferring to wear that stuff-I owned a pair once and it was just too uncomfy. Feels like the pants were vacuum packed on.

I might have to give Testament a new try with their current release. However, from some of their older albums Testament wasn't worth a shit, IMO of course. Perhaps they are one of them bands whom you'll either love or hate, I just couldn't get into them. Anyone feel like swaping a sound file of the new Testament, I'll return the favor of course. Doesn't matter, mp3, wma. Let me know..

I thought Chuck Billy's illness (cancer I think) was preventing any more Testament releases for now. Does anyone know the latest?

Unfortunately, my new uber old uni issue laptop doesn't have any music on it, but I can assure you, Testament's latest is precious little like their thrash roots and far more sophisticated than their death-tinklings in Demonic, and in fact outshines their whole damn back-catalogue put together I think. Just buy it if you can, it was one of the best releases in 2001. (I think it was 2001 anyway, or was it 2000? blarg)

Chuck is 100% back and ready to go. He came out and did 'Into The Pit' with Dragonlord at Milwaukee Metalfest last summer. It was amazing. I briefly talked to Chuck earlier in the day, and he said he felt great.

The new album will be absolutely killer.

I have Practice What You Preach and Souls of Black, how does the new stuff compare?

Low is the best of the 90's Testament material, easily.Demonic was horrid and The Gathering was overall really weak (alot of people seem to love this one thou, for whatever reason).I've only heard a few songs of First Strike Still Deadly, but I perfer the originals over the remakes.

Souls of Black and Practice What You Preach are good albums, and probably the most unrecognized in the Testament studio album collection.

I'm really hoping the new album has some influences of The Legacy...probably won't happen.

It's all opinion, but I basically disagree with everything you just said here. I really only want to comment on the fact that you(and alot of other people)say you prefer the originals to the First Strike Still Deadly recordings and I can't possibly see why! I have always wanted Testament(and quite a few other bands actually)to re-record some of their older tunes because the production on some of the older albums(The New Order in particular)is terrible. I prefer ALL of the versions on First Strike Still Deadly to the originals because the production is completely superior and it just sounds better.

just an opinion i guess:grin: ...plus when you spend so many years listening to those original versions, any other "improved" version will come up short (look at Iced Earth's recent reissues for proof).Sure, they sound better, but it doesnt actually mean that they are better.
