Please follow the instructions below to register, download and authorize your software:

1) Registering your IK Multimedia software
- Please access the IK Multimedia Product Support Page online here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/IKUser.html
- Click on the 'Product Registration' link
- Fill in your Serial Number and all of the required information. Leave the 'Digital ID' field empty
- Click the 'submit' button to finalize the registration process
- You will now be sent an e-mail with your User Name and Password to access your personal User Area where you can download your IK Multimedia software.

* If you already have a previous IK product registered you would have received your username and password on the first product serial number you registered.

2) Downloading your IK Multimedia software
- Access your personal User Area here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/IKRegUsersArea.html
- Log in with the Username and Password you received in your email
- Click 'Downloads' to download the software and install it on your computer

3) Authorizing your IK Multimedia software
- When the Product Authorization Wizard starts, insert your Serial number and click 'Next'.
- Choose 'Request a New Authorization Code' and then click 'Next'.
- Select 'Connect Using another Computer', then click 'Next'. The screen will now display your Serial Number and Digital ID.
- Click the copy button next to the Digital ID.
- Access the IK Multimedia User Area here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/IKRegUsersArea.html
- Click on 'Authorizations'.
- Click on the 'View/Request' button next to the product which you want to authorize.
- Insert your Digital ID in the empty field. Now click on 'Request New Authorization'.
- The new Authorization Code will be displayed and will also be sent to your registered email address. Please keep it for any future reference.
- Now go back to the Product Authorization Wizard and click 'Next'
- In the next window, click the Paste button to paste in the authorization code you just copied, then click 'Next' and then click 'Finish'.

Is it any good? I had free licence for Amplitube Uno years ago, that one was not too useful for metal

I just got a free copy for uploading an album to Tunecore. DUO is feh. I played with it for about half an hour, can't see myself using it much. You get either clean or slightly crunchy, and that's about it. Some of the bluesy slightly overdriven tones were decent, but not much else.

This came free with computer music magazines special "100 and more free plug-ins"
I've yet to install anything from it since i've been away from my gear. The clean must be handy- almost every amp-sim i've got is tailored towards at least slightly crunchy

Ampeg SVX Uno is worth having if you can find it. once again it's just an ad though.

SVX Uno looks pretty good IMO. The full version is great but for a stripped down version not to bad (although kind of sucks that you don't get the 8X10 cab).

I would've LOVED to have had that as a free d/l instead of DUO Right now for bass I'm either using Helian 1st Bass, or using the direct out of my Valvetronix and using the Bassman amp preset.

thanks ahjteam. the software is quite nice (and it's free). You can have a jcm800 with od stompbox in front going into a marshall cab miced with 57. since I think the only thing you can do with modelling software is doing some rehearsing or demoing some stuff, that's more than sufficient. but beware, only 5 authorizations possible.
