I'd like to invite you to listen to Ill Omen Nation, which is a continuation of the project Mistral after a half decade long hiatus. ION & Mistral are both the concept of and performed by Henrik Allan Ryösä, who has played with and produced bands such as Royal Anguish and Enslavement of Beauty, and also worked in various capacities with other known bands such as Extol(Century Media) and others.
Influences cover a range of Finnish and Swedish metal acts among others, including Amorphis, Paradise Lost, ...And Oceans, Sonata Arctica and Rapture, with a tasteful infusion of other genres you may not often hear in metal. ION's songs flow and mutate naturally but often unpredictably and the goal Henrik has set out with is to make the music a journey while always retaining some amount of familiar trademarks.
Perhaps best of all and sure to draw some attention is the impending series of animated music videos which will accompany many of the songs ION produces. These unique creations are bound to become collector's items in their own right and showcase Henrik's diverse artistry. The video for "Shadow Mask" will be the first, expected for release in September.
