A few weeks ago, my friend pointed me in the direction of some stems his friend had produced from an artist called Consuelo, and suggested that I should make a rock/metal remix of it. I'd done this kind of thing before using acapella tracks that I'd found online so I laid down some guitar, bass and programmed some drums over it. A couple of days later, I got a phone call from the producer telling me that the original artist & her team really liked it, and they wanted a finished MP3 for airplay! I don't know what station it'll be on, I'm guessing not a main one, and most certainly not during peak hours, but I'm still really happy as this is the first piece of work I've done to get this kind of great response!
I couldn't have done it without the great users and information on here, so I tip my hat to you all! There are obviously things I look back on and wish I'd done differently, but I suppose that's bound to happen.
