I'm going to NY, any good guitar shop?

I'm going to NY in September and I'd like to take a look to some store and buy some guitar or amp. Any suggestion?

And... may I have problems with the taxes in the airport or not?

Don't know about taxes, but the best spots in NYC are all on 48th St. btwn. 6th & 7th avenues in Manhattan, with Rudy's Music Stop being the best (they carry Bogner, Mesa, and Orange), as well as Sam Ash and Manny's that carry your standard assortment of Peavey/Marshall/Fender/etc. Also, out aways on Long Island is the hallowed Guitar Asylum, which carries Framus/Engl/VHT and other orgasm-inducers. Oh, and there's a Guitar Center on 14th St. in NYC btwn. 5th & 6th avenues.
