Sup fellers. Stuck at work all day and thus can't use search so apologies if I'm retreading charted territory here. Anyway, I was curious about the order in which you guys tackle mixing. Personally I work out drums first then move on to guitars, bass and last vocals. Ive heard guys saying that it's best to go drums then bass but personally my bass tone is always completely dependent on my guitar tone. Which would have some hang ups because by the end of the mixing stage, the guitars barely resemble their originally tracked wav's. Obviously you are going to be tweaking like a mad man after you get everything roughly mixed individually but I guess what I'm asking is what do you guys find to be the most efficient process when coming right out of the gate from tracking to get the rough mix. So that you can have the essentials of your mix without over doing/processing the shit out of your tracks until you need to. Had a hard time trying to explain what I mean. Hopefully it's understood.
