In Flames with Virtual Guitar

That sounded pretty f***ing good. Does it have dual-tracking too?

Thanks! It will have dual-tracking (I'm pushing for quad tracking) however, it's not fully-implemented yet which is why the demo is only a single track.

eeeep double track plz D:

sounds cool otherwise haha :D

See above. :)

It is MIDI controlled, right?

Yes. The guitar is all programmed with Midi. I should also mention that this library is recorded direct so that you have maximum control over sound with amp sims.

Pretty crazy how hard was that to program? Everything seems a little high endish but I have to take a look at this program!

The scary thing is that it is very easy to program. Much easier than Prominy SC actually.

As most of us are guitar players here....and it's getting crazy that these virtual guitar things are getting so good...I've always found it easier to actually play the parts obviously...but now i'm starting to fantasize about not having to pull out my axe and cable, ect...VERY bad of me to say I know!

I know what you mean. If the trend continues, and the guitar libraries keep getting better, it's going to be frighteningly convenient to lay down convincing guitar tracks without even picking up a guitar! :hypno:

yeah it's sampled off a real guitar, but it is a midi, not a person playing, it amazes me that it's really like a guy playing those riffs.
It actually sounds a shitload more real than Superior 2.0 ;)

What separates a good guitar library from a great guitar library (aside from guitar selection, proper sampling, and editing) is the amount of Round Robin that is used. Unfortunately, most libraries don't use more than 4X RR, and as a result -- you get that non-organic "machine gun" effect which is highly undesirable. Clearly the more Round Robin, the better.

Any new demos with this? Or news about when it'll be out? Very curious about this guitar lib.

I've been busy with some other stuff, so I haven't made any new demos. I checked the status with the developer the other day and unfortunately, it's slow-going. So it looks like it's gonna be a while.

Here's a demo I made with the Prominy SC Virtual Guitar. (Soilwork) It's a little more "robotronic" sounding because I didn't spend too much time on it and also... this Library has less RR.

This library is a lot tougher to work with because it's a Strat, so you really gotta play with the EQ to tame it!

Matt, you're totally right about the amount of unique samples rotating in one note bank. This can make or break ANY library and for some reason, not a lot of developers have caught on to this. Excited to see the product come out...I always have an itch for new virtual guitar software. I've also been designing a signature virtual guitar library as well, only I'm designing it in a custom built sampler and modeling it after a successful metal guitarist. Once in beta, I'd like for you to test it out too if you have the time.

For sure! Keep me posted.
