Killer show tonight. Hit several genres of music. MCA of the Beastie Boys celebrates a birthday today, so I played Sabotage. The Beatles released Revolver on this date some 45 years ago so I played two from them in honor. Someone sent in a request for the Yardbirds, so I backed that up with a Zeppelin track and then a Cream track. Killer OPETH and Amon Amarth requests. Good stoner set to finish the show.

Another slow night in the INFERNALROCKRADIO Chat Room did NOT deter from a killer playlist, good rants by the host, and lets not forget the AWESOME redesign job by DreadPirateVane on the INFERNAL ROCK RADIO website. Many many props to the Boss.

Did not get any requests - so it was a thrash night. The BachnessMonster tends to play a lot of thrash near the end of his show so I kept the ball rollin. Some highlights:

Excellent show tonight. I was handed a nice batch of listeners as The BACHNESS MONSTER did a Friday edition of THE LAIR. As he is on before me every Monday, today seemed almost like a Monday. Lots of good requests tonight - Jeff in LA and JEPSAMA in Crystal Lake kept me busy. New drops from CHIMAIRA, TRIVUM, and BURY YOUR DEAD made my night. Also mixed in a couple live tracks from CHICKENFOOT.

I still cannot get over how good the INFERNAL ROCK RADIO website looks. The chatroom doesn't appear to have the lag that it used to have when it filled up. You all should stop by sometime and hang out. We won't bite.

I don't do morning shows very often. I think in my 22 years of being a DJ I have been on the air before 2pm less than 12 times. 2, maybe 3 of those have been while I've been at INFERNAL ROCK RADIO.

Good action in the #IRR Chat Room today. It was nice to have a good turnout from the EU, specifically CHAOS and PAGAN HEL. Excellent tunes today - new drops (for me) today from CONCRETE and RISING DARK. Good requests from Tim in Sun Prarie, BRAINSCAB, and CHAOS. BRAINSCAB ended up taking the feed after I was done. CHAOS did a drive-by as well in the afternoon.

A moment of silence please for Dimebag Darrell as it's his birthday today. \M/ RIP DIME \M/ - we did a moment of silence when I announced his birthday.

Hello METALHEADS! Another awesome edition of REALITY SUCKS came across the INFERNAL ROCK RADIO feed last night. Good requests, Good Chatroom. BachnessMonster left me with a good amount of listeners, and a bit of a THRASH vibe as he always does. Typically I keep the THRASH going but today I went STONER METAL and played some leftover requested WITCHFINDER GENERAL for CosmicMan666 who is somewhere over the pond in England.

New drops include tracks from polish stoners JD OVERDRIVE - SOUTHELL - and REVOCATION who has a new record out. \M/

Jimmy K stopped into chat to hang out for a bit. Good to see him. Gary also stopped in and hung out until the show was over. Gary is not happy with the PROG element that he heard in the new ANTHRAX track, but was down with ASG and LAST CRACK. Back to Anthrax - the prog isn't overwhelming so I'm OK with it. I'm not a PROG fan for the most part, but a little scoshe of it will not ruin my ANTHRAX experience. If their new record is PROGGIE though I will be disappointed.

The late LAYNE STALEY of Alice in Chains would have been 44 yesterday. I celebrated his birthday with a moment of silence and then played the track "ROOSTER' from their LIVE 2000 release.

Labor Day 2011 REALITY (TV) SUCKS - excellent show. A comrade of mine, Stolley, inadvertently placed a hairspray bug in my ear while I was doing pre-show prep. So my first hour was 80's and 90's hairspray. Good stuff there. Thanks Stolley. Excellent Stoner set to close the show, and then just the usual mayhem with good requests throughout the rest of the show.

Jeff in LA managed to get me to do my Conky impersonation from the Canadian television series "Trailer Park Boys". "What Sucks On Television" cracked me up when I noted that on OXYGEN they were running a show called 'My Male Member is HOTTER than yours" or something along those lines. You can go in several directions with that, which I did. TV sucks. Get over it sheep.

Reality SUCKS Friday 16 September 2011

I started off my radio night experience with a visit to THE LAIR OF THE BACHNESS MONSTER for a snort of bourbon with Bach and JD. Bach was doing a Friday Edition of THE LAIR before they went out to see SUBATOMIC, CARBELLION, and CHAOS REVOLUTION THEORY at Mister Roberts. When I walked into the door of THE LAIR at 4:22 the lettuce aroma was certainly evident. \M/

On to my show. Good chatroom tonight. I kicked off the show with a double-shot of Metallica covers - The Mercyful Fate medley from Garage INC, and Diamond Heads 'The Prince" which was first released as a B-SIDE to "ONE" way back when. The rest of the first hour I showcased some of my favorite local bands, Droids Attack, Romero, and Kill Junior.

I then played a double-shot from the new Anthrax record to kick off hour 2. The new Anthrax is outstanding. The rest of the show was a kick-ass mix of genres; Doom, Thrash, Stoner, Power, and even a little Prog. \m/

The BACHNESS MONSTER put on another EPIC edition of THE LAIR prior to me taking the feed. I am really getting stoked for his BIRTHDAY BASH in November.

On another night when my usual "charm" attitude was lacking, I still managed to have an awesome show. I had a great CHATROOM and excellent tunes. An old friend stopped into the CHATOOM which inspired the SLEAZE ROCK you heard during the second hour. Thanks for tuning in, Raider!

Reality (BDAY) Sucks 03 October 2011


I took the last week of September off from Radio - life happens. So this is my first blog in a couple weeks. Did you miss me? Of COURSE you did. With this past Sunday being my birthday I decided that I was going to be RADIO NAZI and flip the requests off to open my show and play some personal favorites. Three from NINE INCH NAILS to get things going - some local flavor with FACES FOR RADIO, LAST CRACK, and DROIDS ATTACK in the second hour. As the night progressed I busted out the heavy shit, and played some new (to me) stuff from LANDMINE MARATHON - DEIVOS - and WARBRINGER.

Reality Sucks: HALLOWEEN EDITION - Monday 31 October, 2011


Another chapter in the REALITY SUCKS story was written Monday. Halloween isn't really my thing - however I will call out some pretty kickass costumes that I saw two nights before later on.

As usual the BACHNESSMONSTER had a KILLER KILLER set and left me with a nice amount of listeners. Thank you Jeff \M/. I started off the night with a few tracks that celebrated Halloween. That was the extent my celebration. No candy for this kid.

I've been working on a new segment - "IMAGINE THAT" - this past monday Kim KarSKANKIAN decided she wanted a divorce after 72 days of marital bliss. IMAGINE THAT. Terrell Owens can't make his child support payments. IMAGINE THAT. You can see where I am going with this segment.

Saturday the 29th was FREAKFEST in Madison. Thousands pour into the downtown area of Madison, generally costumed up. I avoided most of the festivities as my downtown destinations did not include Freakfest. However, I think they need to rename FREAKFEST to SLUT-NIGHT. 'nuff said. I did catch the SPOOKTACULAR show at THE FREQUENCY with Unusual Hurts, Chaos Revolution Theory, and SUBATOMIC. UH did a great job covering Nirvana. Outstanding job even. CRT did an amazing Peal Jam set, and SUBATOMIC totally KRUSHED Black Sabbath. @Mike Adams Jr: you are a madman sir. \M/

Speaking of SPOOKTACULAR - I have to call attention to a pair of costumes. The EROTIC JESUS dressed as well, himself, and then the PREDATOR costume. WOW.. Nice job all.

Holy shit has it really been over a month since I have updated my show blog? ANSWER: YES.

Thank you to DREAD PIRATE VANE for the awesome graphic he made for the front page of my blog. I do believe this is my first post since he sent that to me over the X-Mas holiday. Thanks Boss. YA HA HAR!

Reality Sucks - Monday 19 March 2012


HOLY SHIT! A SlamminAlvin blog update. Imagine that.

Good show tonight. Good chatroom turnout. I was doing show prep during The Lair with The BachnessMonster. He always kicks of METAL MONDAY properly - this week he had an interview with NewEnglanders SKROGG. Excellent band. Go listen. Bach busted out the Stoner Metal tonight. \m/

Back to show prep - I got most of the way through my prep to realize that 19 March 1982 was the day that former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoades was fatally injured in a plane crash. This put a bit of a damper on my mood as I remember that day well. You will see the pair of Ozzy tracks from "Tribute" later on in my playlist. RIP Randy. Still remembered and your music still holds up 30 years later. \M/

I stuck with the Thrash/Death the first half of the show. Double shots of Cavalera Conspiracy and GOJIRA. 19 March is also the birthday of Patrick McGoohan, of THE PRISONER. Hence the Iron Maiden track HAD to be played as that Maiden track is one my all time favorite tracks. I went NWOBHM after that - mixed in FURY at the top of the 3rd hour as they will be in the UNDERWORLD with DJ Beasty 21 March.
