I'm just curious as to who keeps tradelists. I think I need to make one. Anyway, if you have one, post it here because you never know who might be interested!

(Trading also seems like a good way to try out certain bands and material without having to fork out the list price $$).

  • In Flames "Clayman" ltd. pressing
  • Emperor "Prometheus: The Disclipine of Fire and Demise"
  • Hypocrite "Edge of Existence" orig. pressing
  • Samael "Eternal" digipak
  • Sanctus "Aeon Sky"
  • Napalm Death "Diatribes" promo in jewelcase

Not much, and not much good stuff... I haven't done any trading before but if there's anything anyone would like, give me an offer of whatever.

I could make copies of any of my stuff (no originals ever leave my room unless under certain circumstances  ) but I'll have to update the list before I put it up...and even then I bet there'll be holes >_<

(300+ albums, two or three dozen singles and a handful of demos...)

I'm in the same boat as Ayeka. I don't mind making copies. My list is also very incomplete, (1,500 cd's plus singles) it's hard to keep track of.

Keeley you've already been through mine, but maybe a have a few new delights for ya

Yeah your review for Porcupine Tree kicked ass, but I'm torn between getting a CD-R off you or just buying it. Sounds like I need to do the latter.

I'm sending those RWPL and Steve Wilson CDs tomorrow by the way, so make that 1502 CDs you own.

After next week, I'm going to make my own trade list. I need to get rid of some stuff.

1 500 CDS? Totally hardcore!

Gimme a minute, I'll try and tweak the list and slap it on 'ere...

I can't do the whole trade thing, because many years ago I sold several CDs that thought I didn't want anymore, and I have since purchased all of them back. What I hate today I may love tomorrow, so I keep them all. :)

I think my collection hovers around 800 CDs now.

>_< so many hardcore people

Anyway, here's my stash. Tape copies are easiest, the only one of my mates with a CD re-writer doesn't know how to use it :D but I might be able to ask around and find someone else...

@Ayeka - are you looking at trading those as CD-R's or tapes?

I was thinking more along the lines of us trading originals, heh....:erk:

Still - nice list though!

Like I said, tapes are easier for me to do...I know I'd much rather receive CDs, so if any dude is hell-bent on trading CD-Rs I could try and sort something out. But tapes are much easier :)
And like I said - you get my originals over my dead body! It's like NAD said, what you hate today you might love tomorrow. Music is precious, you gotta keep it! :D

I just updated the list as there were about 8 or so albums I'd managed to forget I had >_< I'll tack demos and singles on the end in a minute. Why not, there ain't too many! :D

Tapes? What are tapes? I believe I erased that era from my memory.

I can't do the whole trade thing, because many years ago I sold several CDs that thought I didn't want anymore, and I have since purchased all of them back. What I hate today I may love tomorrow, so I keep them all.

I'm totally with NAD here. I learned my lessons long ago. I don't get rid of anything anymore.

While we're showing cock sizes, my collection has gotta be closing in on 1500 too. Not entirely sure, I haven't counted in a while. Plus, all the shit on my harddrive has gotta add a few hundred more.

But I can guarantee that I own stuff that I will NEVER listen to again. I just cannot imagine that in 2 years time, I'll find the urge to listen to power metal like Isengard, Morifade, Dragonland, & Guardians of Time - unless my tastes begin to regress. I aim to prove that evolution does not work in reverse.

Fortunately, with Power Metal being the biggest and most popular genre in metal, it won't be difficult selling this stuff on eBay (and for a semi-decent price to boot).

Far from it. :)

I have crates of cassette tapes. They are just useless to me. The thing that kills me, is that I was still sometimes buying tapes AFTER I had a cd player, for financial reasons I guess. Still, it makes me mad. I should have been buying all vinyl in the pre-cd days. Sigh...

Well, just imagine all those folk who bought vinyl back in the day, and gave them up to charity or whatever. Some people even just dumped them thinking CDs would rule the world forever.

Sometimes rarities turn up in the strangest places, and the people selling them don't even know the value. I think that happens with comic books all the time too.

Well, my vinyl copies of Led Zep I & II cost £1 each :D though I guess that might be to do with the scratches that make 'em severely crackly between songs

Yeah but if they're first pressings, they might be worth something to a die hard collector?

My parents still have their record collection, probably first pressing Floyd, Zeppelin, Tull, etc. Stuff is probably worth some cash, but if they ever give it to me I'd never sell it. :)

JayKeeley said:

I remember when I bought Led Zep I, the guy in the shop said that limited edition (I think) copies of it had the band name in green as opposed to red...it could well be that my copies are first pressings, but not quite as limited *^_^* so it's possible they could be worth more than a squid, yea....

...never know what mad fool might turn up on eBay ;)
