Yes, definitely. Awesome band, I travelled 3 hours just to see them play 6 songs when they opened up for Katatonia. I left after their set. Totally worth it. I hung out with the band before and after the show, no one even knew who they were before. They even added one of my favourite songs to the setlist just for me, REALLY nice guys. I can't wait until they come back. They are by far one of my favourite band, all three of their CD's fucking own hard, I can't wait for the new release this year.

I don't like melodic death metal (too cheesy and typic..that's too soft metal) but this band is in my exceptions with Dark Tranquillity. I like their song The Elder.

^I wouldn't call Norther Melodic Death Metal. It's more like Power Metal, only a bit more extreme than regular PM bands.

I still like the old Norther (the new cd sucks) but I don't listen to them anymore...
It was a band that I listened a lot when I was 16 years old, I have mementos attached to this band.

Well, they aren't touring anywhere accord to Ville's blog, they're taking a year off to record the new album

Heh, these guys are amazing. I love their riff/melodies and, i've just noticed some of these guys songs are in 7/8 - 9/8 wich is pretty amazing for metal. It differs from constant 4/4. If you like melodic death metal ,you'll love them. I wouldn't actually compare them to COB or Norther, it's way different with these clean interludes and smooth solos.

Insomnium is like melodic doom metal, I've heard it described. I don't classify metal, I just know they're fucking AMAZING. FUN FACT: The band doesn't have a keyboardist, but the keyboardist from Swallow the Sun wrote their keyboard parts for them and when possible he plays with them live, though he is not a member of the band.
