interesting article......

I bet most of these 1000 bright kids DO NOT listen to country.

Okay, okay there's a few good country songs.... but not many IMNSHO.

heh. It was kinda fun in school and all. Long hair, levi jacket covered with metal patches, metal shirts, and one of the highest grade points and a free ride schollarship to the premire private college (other than BYU) in Utah :)

But it's true, people did assume you to be unintelligent, and drugged out just because you were a metal head.

I always had fun dispelling the myth of "heavy metal fan = blithering idiot" with my friends' parents. I had the longest hair of all the guys in my high school graduating class (probably longer than all the girls, too), and the highest GPA.

I always liked listening to metal while doing my studies. I still do. :kickass:

Yeah, I got that sometimes in high school..

I went to a private middle school for grades 4-8. We had anatomy in 7th grade science class. Couple years later in high school, anatomy came up again in health class. Since I already knew all the major bones/muscles, I was not sweating that section. The teacher would point to a bone and ask the class for the name of the bone...all blank stares except for me. I rattled off a few before he stopped and asked the class if anyone, besides me knew the material. There's nothing like seeing the looks of peoples faces in times like those.

I wonder if the researchers of these findings ever saw "Heavy Metal Parking Lot"....lol...

:p :p :p

 Good story. I think it's great when metal fans can prove they have a brain and know how to use it.
