Kick ass! Amorphis f*cking rocks!!

Love their mix of 70s prog, folk, doom, Hammond Organ ass-kicking metal!!!
However, I've not heard the new vocalist yet......please advise on how he sounds!!!

Will do! .. ofcourse I will have to go to the store before we get to far and buy a Couple Amorphis Albums ... I only know a few songs :erk: :p

I added my two cents on the PP forum, and here is the link:

What I didn't cover was the new singer. This guy has about five times the energy that Pasi had, so that is a major positive.

The negative would be that my overall impression of his vocals was less than Pasi. His voice actually cracked on a couple of higher notes (not that Pasi really even got that high up). My thoughts after seeing him sing was that he is essentially a converted Death Metal Vocalist, who was trained to sing regular. He has a lower range than Pasi, and seemed much more comfortable doing the older material where it was sprinkled with much more Death Vox. The set was even more tailored to showcase him doing the older stuff.

I will be interested to see if Amorphis is actually regressing back to their early, rougher roots and maybe turning away from the 70's Prog Rock direction that they had been on. We'll see...

Let me know how Amorphis do with the new singer. Enjoy!

OK So I know I said I would let ya know how Amorpohis was.... But I cant I skipped out on em After Into Eternity.... hahaha Dont worry though I will post a Review.. .. ..I must say Poughkeepsie, Ny is a Shithole the place the bands played "The Loft" is the Worst nastyiest tiniest place I have ever seen a Pro-Metal Band Play I have seen Local BCHC shit bands with a better spot to play on .... The First couple of Bands were all out screaming music those 2 were "Single Bullett Theory" and "Beyond the embrace" or something like that ... SBT was cool and made me think of Old School thrash in ways ... but the real reason I was there was to see Into Eternity! and they were great!!!!! they started off a lil rough but when you combine Shitty PA equipment at the venue and a Stage the size of a Postage stamp and just the fact that they are playing some pretty Damn complicated music its understandable ... the Boys played mostly from the "Buried in Oblivion" Album but did do a New one and one off of the"Dead and Dreaming" Album ... all in all they did real good and their new Singer Although certainly Different than Chris Krall did a Fantastic Job!!! .... here is a small reviewe of Amorphis by the Former lead singer of Into Eternity:

Amorphis--they were awesome. Like the other bands, I've seen these guys before, and the new singer is a big improvement. Back are the death vocals, and a good amount of older material was played, plus a few songs off Tuneola (my personal fav). Even the songs off the last album, which I thought blew, sounded great and a lot more powerful. I've been reading that Amorphis has been coming across as boring compared to the rest of the bands, but I thought they were a good fit for this bill. They're flawless, trippy and just a great blend of folkish-atmosphere and good solid metal. Maybe it was the small venue, but they were heavier than I last remember them.

Other than a RAGING Headache it was a pretty fun night!

Why did you leave before Amorphis went on?

Pretty much because I bought "Far From the Sun" Wasnt all that impressed + I had a ripping Migrane Headache going and had been awake for 24 hours ... my main goal was to see Into Eternity once that was completed I had a new mission finding a convenince store with Advil! :loco: ... chances are though I am going to get into Amorphis and regret skipping out on them ... but its ok Because INTO ETERNITY KICKED ASS

I'll be seeing these guys this Saturday down here in Tampa. Can't wait to see IE again. They were great at PP last year. I love when these shows come through on a weekend. I'll be able to really enjoy it and not worry about getting up for work the next day. I will let you know how it was after the show!

hahaha I Wish bands came close enough to me that I didnt have to travel 5 to 600 miles hahaha ... But they were cool a little rough in the begining ... bet they warmed up quick and kicked ass .. the new Singer is Completely different than Chris Krall I cant compare him to the guy that sang at PPV because I accidently missed em :loco: but the kid has alot of Energy and can Growl real well ... and He can Go Very High .. its gonna be interesting to Hear a new album!

You call THAT a long trip? :tickled:
Beat this: 17 hours by train from Split to Budapest and 13 on the way home.
Travelling for 5 hours is a very usual thing here, since most worthy concerts in Croatia happen in Zagreb, which is (ta-daaa!) some 5 hrs from Split, where I live.

It's all ok as long as you've had a blast at the gig...

Fly for 3 hours? Don't make me laugh... We don't even fly by planes here cause they're so friggin' expensive... :tickled: And I'd gladly go to Budapest by plane and arrive in 1-2 hours or so... ;)

Well 2 stinky Metal Heads in a car for what was actually 7 hours each way was a long time so yeah I can call that a long trip Granted I cant Beat 17 hours on train for that trip but I have spent 24 hours on a train trip one time so I know Exzactly what you mean :) .... But yes IE was great and worth every hour and mile

Man Vern like I said before how far is Mexico from you. It looks like thier is going to
be a boatload of metal shows and festivals over there! Well I guess I cant really complain about driving either 2 hours to Cincinnatti OH or Champaign Il or 3 hours
to Chicago Il. because of the lack of National or International metal acts coming
through Indianapolis compared to some of you guy's roadtrip stories! Oh well Im enjoying seeing the local and regional up and coming metal bands touring through here
anyway and I dont know if anyone has heard but my local boys Demiricous just got
signed to Metal Blade!
