i know, i know. i'm a horrible person for downloading leaked material, but I couldn't help myself with this release.

this has to be my FAVORITE metal production ever.

fuck you Zeuss  !

amazing, AMAZING sounding album.

any one have some details on the making of this?

I heard one song on myspace and I agree. Sounds totally awesome to me, but I'm going to wait till it comes out to hear the whole thing without stupid compression.

I've always liked Zeuss, but I think this CD and the new Shadows Fall are a whole new level.

i agree as well. the new stuff sounds killer. zeuss does a fantastic job. hes also a great guy as well. when my old band recorded with him in like 2000, i was hooked on engineering. he made my old pearl set sound sooooo good, i couldnt believe it. i cant give the guy enough props.

i dun care tehre great fuckin guys with a great sound we played with them a while back last summer when tehre werent "big" now there doing it up large i wanna hear the album ?

As soon as I heard that phatass guitar tone come in, I knew exactly why you liked it CJ. It's the sort of tone you've been pulling out of your fireball for ages :)

haha, thanks dude... but I only wish I could get something akin to this.. this mix just amazes me.

I think Zeuss is now using an SSL, but I could be wrong. Certainly doesn't sound very ITB to me...

Very cool both music and soundwise ...and yeah I also though it sounds pretty similar to CJwall's stuff :headbang:

the video on their myspace is fucking weird

but the mix they have up sounds pretty good

zeuss always does that cool drum sound, it was really sweet on the red chord's clients, that cd rox even on one mono broken 6 inch speaker, i swear to you

This album sounds amazing... but why is it every time a new album with production blows me away, I listen to something like Doomsday Machine and just think 'oh shit... its just novelty, Andy craps all over this'?

I think it's good, but it's more of a 'good in a super vibey' sort of manner. There are some parts I'm not digging too much, but it's a killer production overall, and again, I love the vibe.

I was actually doing the same thing earlier, listening to this and then TGE or some newer stuff by Andy, and I guess it's all down to personal taste.

Each is amazing in their own right and both Zeuss and Sneap have toootally different styles. Polar opposite, almost.

I think it's quite similar, with the broader world of music considered. It's just that the Ion album is, like DSS said, very vibey. It's a production done with the band and their sound in mind, so it works very well in that regard. On the whole, in terms of cleanliness and just mix tightness, I think Andy's got it. Two different sides of the same coin I suppose.

When I heard the Ion album though, I could see why you liked it, but couldn't quite understand why you liked it so much. In my opinion you've been doing stuff as good as this for a while now. I think towards the end of the Gift of Ruin stuff, you developed your production style to really rival this album.

Wow, thanks dude. That really means alot...! Whether I think it's true or not, it's nice to know :)

I see what you're saying though, definitely a sound tailored for the band. That's one thing I like about Zeuss though, all his productions sound fairly different. Not that andy's don't, but the margin seems much greater with Zeuss' work. Dunno if that is a good or bad thing, lol.

I honestly don't dig a lot of the stuff Zeuss has done, but this just struck a chord in me...

Thanks again..

and on an entirely different note, the new track Suicide Silence posted on their myspace fucking KILLS, song and production.

Tue Madsen really did it for me here..

Seems I'm really digging these vibe-y mixes, which is kind of the sound I want/have been trying to get for a while, yet still trying to retain that modern, dry, in your face kind of sound.

damn.

The drums definitely rule on that album, although, from a fan standpoint, this album seems to be tame in regards to their two previous works. It seemed like they calmed some the erractic nature and focused and heavy brutal rhythms. Love the production, though!

From a fan point of view as well, I thought it was like "Solace" lite. Which to say it's bad, which it isn't, it just feels like very contained, linear chaos...if that makes sense. Now, if only they had this production on "Breathing is Irrelevant"
