ION DISSONANCE..... FUUUUCK.

I wouldn't call them hardcore by any stretch. Maybe with the inclusion of the new singer, but still.

I found the last two releases to be almost unlistenable, from a production and songwriting point of view. I heard nothing that really grabbed my attention and when it would, it would only last 4 seconds or whatever.

So...:heh:

Well I know the guys and Kevin, the new singer told me that they decided to play what they like and to ''fuck le reste'' for this album...

I can't judge them for doing what they want to and playing what they like. As I said, "Breathing Is Irrelevant" is my fav. album by them. So angry, so intense, and spazztic. Though don't really have any problems with the production on their last two albums. Plus, I like the frantic, spazzy stuff. I get music ADD a lot, and I sometimes I can't stand basic, structured stuff. I enjoyed the spazztic riffs, time changes, craziness. Now, if only Dillinger Escape Plan could get Zeus to produce them.

all the newer cds zeuss did are sounding fantastic:

the new remembering never

emmure

icepick

ion dissonance

....

but I asked me all the time: Why does the new hatebreed sounds so shitty:heh:

"but i asked me all the time" lol, that's a good one.

hatebreed..

there is a bass drop in a song on the rise of brutality that reminds me of an explosion, more than a bass drop. can't remember the song title. its bad though. sounds like it implodes.

zuess also produced my friend's band called emmure. emmure was actually produced by the guitarist of ion dissonance (antione lussier) before zuess did them. zuess is a cool guy, and a great producer

I didnt mean the rise of brutaliy.
I mean supremacy. This one sounds like plastic drumkit. I´m not talking about the lifeless songs.

And emmure have one of the most brutal and crushing guitarsounds I ever heard

I always felt The Acacia Strain took a little something something from Blood Has Been Shed's "Spirals" album.

I've never thought about that, but I can definitely hear some "Spirals" influence in The Acacia Strain. However, I still like The Acacia Strain a lot more.
As for Ion Dissonance, I don't know what the rest of the new album is like, but "Kneel" is pretty dang heavy, I'm liking it for sure.

though a lot of my friends are in them my whole thing with the breakdown hardcore grindcore whatever you wanna call them bands has always been like TOO many breakdowns. i think a breakdown is a great thing to have but it has to be like the climax, thats why i like lamb of god so much, they breakdown tastefully.

im not saing they are bad but so many new "victory records" bands that really are just a bunch of syncopated heavy riffs with odd melody and a lot of breakdowns. it takes away from the breakdown when it's done so much, sort of over exposed, loses value, even in other music and bands

Well I got the Ion Dissonance album today, and for the most part I'm really liking it a lot. They've come up with a lot of really cool, groove-y rhythms. The first track for instance...REALLY cool rhythm they made there, different variations of triplets and such. I'm also really loving the snare sound, it's got so much snap to it. Basically everything about the mix is great, but what's weird to me is how in some parts the toms sound great, and in other parts they sound kind of dull.
