Iron Maiden!

In all honest, I never ever got the massive fuss about Iron maiden. Yeah they have some good stuff and I've seen their live act first hand (in '06, sadlt Trivium were supporting) and they're awesome, but their music tends to get boring very quickly for me. I prefer Motorhead and Judas rist over Iron Maiden anyday.
I remember some guy told me in the queue for the Maiden gig that 'if you don't like Iron Maiden then you're not a metalhead'. I asked him if he knew who Megadeth and Exodus were and he didn't know. He was laughed at, ridiculed for awhile, then told to shut up and fuck off by nearly everyone surrounding him.

I find that the less a band is like Maiden, the less i like them. if the singer is hitting notes and not just talking harshly and the guitarists are going fast,heavy and have a good sense of melody(i.e. Megadeth), the chances of my liking it are alot better than something like necrophagist.

I always get the feeling with Maiden they could be that bit heavier and get away with it. Their music has pretty much sounded the same since they started, they've never altered their sound. And while thats a triumph for them and one of their defining features, it puts them in the same boat as AC/DC for me.
I just can't get my fix of heavy from them like I can from Judas Priest or Saxon.

i agree, i think its amazing but i cant rock out to it lol like i can heavier stuff, i know its not trully meant for that but thats what i like.
