Iron Maiden's drum sound

well I play the drums and I've been trying to get the drum sound of iron maiden, but can't get it. My friend tells me to dampen it. does anyone really know how to get the sound?

The best advice I can offer you is to have a good friend smash you across the bridge of your nose with a beer bottle. On second thought, any blunt object will do.
