Finally!

Australian ticket prices are $150 Gold $99 Silver not too bad...

They fly over my city to play another - bad - due to "logistical reasons", pigs arse. I'm leaving my family behind and travelling because I couldnt live with myself if I missed my dream Maiden stage sets, its bad enough I just missed them back in '84.

It also seems an appropriate time to share a recent photo of my son. He sure knows his metal:headbang:

Cool jacket. Kids are awesome, I have a 13 year old son. He was that age once.
Achrisk, does he share your taste in music?

When my wife produced the little denim jacket, I had one thing on my mind - backpatch! The Live After Death one is a really big, little patch which on a 2 yr olds jaket looked big. Hehe, he's my little trooper.

I was shocked at price of a patch these days - $7 for that little thing.

My son really loves the Piece of Mind album, it makes him gets his groove on and he tries to sing along. He also tried to copy me headbanging but he almost fell over, I dont think I should do that in front of him anymore!:headbang:
I saw the World Slavery Tour back in '85. It was amazing!
I'm dying to see the show, the props and to sing along in front of them. Its weird having listened to metal for over two decades but never having actually seen Iron Maiden live. My life will soon be complete!:headbang:

I'll definitely go, opening show too! I was expecting the tickets to be much more expensive, considering how much they are to Motorhead and Rose Tattoo. Hopefully there'll be decent supports.

Yeah I think I'll go. Is it true that they're only playing stuff off the first 7 albums? If so I'm there for sure.
Satan, you'll need to be quick. I hear the pre-sales sold out today. I imagine when the general public tickets go on sale tomorrow (27th) they'll go fast.

I understand Sydney is in a similar boat - I'm seeing them at Acer, I'll be as close to front of the stage as I can get:headbang:

Apparently the time between each show is so they can squeeze in more if needed so there might still be hope.

Goodluck guys:kickass:

Just bought my ticket, silver reserve. You're right about the extra shows, second Melbourne and Sydney shows have just been announced.
Gold Standing sold out already at second Melbourne show. The way ticket sales are going they are likely to have near maximum attendance at every show of the now 6 show date. I think that means attendence figures will be around 15,000 each show.

Taken from Iron Maidens website:

Iron Maiden's SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR got off to a flying start today in Australia, where Sydney's Acer Arena sold out within 25 minutes of going on sale and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena sold out within 15 minutes, leading to promoter Paul Dainty immediately putting on sale second shows in both cities and commenting; "Sales for the tour have been phenomenal with over 40,000 tickets being sold in the first hour. Ticketek reported that the queues have been the longest at their ticket outlets for any on-sale for ages. This is a hugely anticipated tour here."

Australia is the first country on the 2008 tour to go on sale. Full details of the rest of first tour leg in Feb/Mar 08, in which the band, crew and equipment will travel in a specially customised 757 jumbo piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson, will be announced next month, with tickets for most countries going on sale in November.

Manager Rod Smallwood commented "This is a great start to what promises to be a really memorable tour and year for the band. We haven't been to Australia for over 15 years but l guess the incredible demand for tickets shows that Metal is truly back down under. And hopefully by returning there after all these years we can help re-establish it even more"

The full Australian dates for Feb 08 are now:

Mon 4th - Perth Burswood Dome
Wed 6th - Melbourne Rod Laver Arena
Thurs 7th - Melbourne Rod Laver Arena
Sat 9th - Sydney Acer Arena
Sun 10th - Sydney Acer Arena

I saw the World Slavery Tour back in '85. It was amazing!

I was in canberra OZ for that show i still have the World Slavery Tour 84-85 poster.

To be honest i didn't even know they were in OZ 15 years ago. I don't think they played in Canberra as in the Slavery Tour Show alot of the seats were ripped up at the civic theatre, was a fucked up place to have in my opinion.
