I've been browsing Rondo music for a while now and the amount of awesome looking stuff they have is just incredible, I mean look at these -

I wouldn't mind getting a 5 string bass if I can get the money saved together sometime this year, and Rondo music looks like the cheapest place to get one from, but are they any good?

Has anyone on here used them and can you trust them?
I'm from the UK and they don't give you any warranty outside of the US, so I don't want to get nothing from there unless I know they can be trusted!

They're fairly reputable, lots of people on sevenstring.org buy Agiles from there (only place you can get them), I wouldnt worry about them ripping you off at all.

Their customer service is said to be pretty good too, I got in touch with them once and got a very prompt reply so I would well believe it.

And if I was going to get a 5 string bass or 8 string guitar, how much do you think they would tax me? I have read some people saying they haven't been taxed much after it comes through to the UK, but a few people have said they have been charged huge amounts :erk:

Both of the guitarists in my band recently bought Agile 7 strings from there, and they are literally incredible, especially for the money.

The shipping was fairly quick (I'm in the UK too) and neither of them were charged anything in terms of import tax or duty. That's not to say that you won't be, but they didn't get charged...

Fucking beautiful guitars though...

I also know one othr guy who has an Agile 8 string, and he fucking loves it.

I'm a happy customer, although truth be told, my Agile had to to be shipped back at my cost but they sent me a nice one. Support was great. Had no problems there.

I'm mainly interested in a 5 string bass, but I wouldn't mind a 8 string :D
Its sounding like they are pretty good then!

But I won't be able to get nothing for a long time anyway though  I need a job badly :D

I love my Agile Ghost III. Wonderful guitar. The guy that also played guitar in the last band I was in had an Agile, and he loved that thing too. Still does as far as I know.

I've been toying with the thought of ordering an Agile but I don't think it's worth it to ship it all the way in here.

I'd love a les paul -style Agile, they look pretty good by their specs.

I have that same bass, well the burst one. I think it is an excellent bass for the money. It sounds great, nice and thick and chunky but sits in a mix really nice. I really love ash basses.

The electronics are pretty decent, the finish is really nice and the bass looks much better in person. It is very solid and sounds great acoustically which gives it a pretty rich tone.

If you are good at setting up basses you can get it to play really nice. The bridge is a bit of a PITA to adjust the intonation. It is roughly the same as intonating a floyd with just a setscrew instead of a screw adjustment.

The fretwork was pretty good. I have never had a problem with the tuning stability and tuners. But I had one guy borrow it and had issues, who knows. The strings it comes with are crap, put on new ones.

It plays pretty nice. But I think with a shim in the neck and some filing of the bridge I could get it playing better. But it plays just fine for a solid backup and studio bass. Probably the main thing I wish it had was a midrange control... but hell for under $200 it is a steal and an absolute rocking bass.

What? :zombie:

They sent me a buzzy, non set up one at first. I didn't want to mess around with it because I expect to buy a well tuned and set up guitar. So I sent it back (plus a accidently hit it on a table making a tiny dent in the paint:heh:) and they sent me back what I asked for. So yeah, support is great. ;)

Does anyone know whether the Z5 (5 string) bass is much better than the HXB-405? I'm wondering whether it would be a waste of money to get the Z5 if it's not drastically better than the HXB-405.
