Anyone else heard of them or know where to get a CD from?

A friend of mine recorded me a tape because they thought I might like it. It sounds really interesting, adventurous and alternative (which is totally my bag) but it's a pretty dodgy recording that doesn't do it justice. I'd really like to hear it on CD!!

Anyone know of them and think they're any good??

Got the albums.
Cool music, kicks ass - lots of folk, at least on the latest.
Only 2 albums (that I know of) -
Vinterskugge (Winter Shadow) - Peaceville Records
and
Høstmørke (Autumn Darkness) - Moonfog Prod.
This is Fenriz' (Darkthrone) side project.

I think both of them are good. The sound is kinda distorted but
that's the way it was ment to be, and it's best that way.
You probably got an even worse sound on that tape.

I tought nobody likes Isengard. I have two cds and I think its quite good in it's own way.

i have a copy of hostmorke and I think the tape is definitely badly recorded, there's loads of hiss for a start. i don't think it's all artistic! now i really have to find the CDs!!!

er....is this Isengard who made Crownless Majesty (Hemisphere Entertainment)? The power metal band?

What a disaster. Worst power metal out there IMO - if you're going to spend time getting hold of power metal, there is much much better available.

Based on lordenlil's post though, there could be two Isengards which would be surprising....

no not power metal.. they are part of the norse style black metal. very primitive music. not really my cup of tea but i know that you can get it from moonfog productions. ask plastic head distro in the uk for a copy of their cd's. they chould have it.

Yes, much of it is primitive but it still beats a LOT of bands in pure
atmosphere.

One more note about the sound. On the back of Høstmørke, it says:
"Engineered and produced in Necrohell Studios to get that fine
demo-sound. No clinical life-sound here!"
(hmm - urging for a sound of death it seems.. muhahaha)

I know most music would really suck with this kinda sound,
but here it has its purpose. Not because it's cool but because if
you are really into it, you will feel the pure energy of the raw
sound and music, and that feels damn GOOD!
Just like the good old Darkthrone.
