I recently picked up this album after reading rave reviews and I have to say, I'm blown away.

Not wishing to sound like an advertisement or anything, but this is a pretty incredible album. It's almost like a cross between latter day Devin Townsend and Neurosis with a hint of Tool thrown in. And, of course, the album comprises of 9 tracks to do with falling, being alone, cold, warm, beauty and the ocean.

Has anyone else discovered this album, and if so, what do you think?

I've had it for quite some time now. I love it.

You'll also probably lke Old Man Gloom. Check 'em out

I've heard a bit about Old Man Gloom but haven't seen their albums around... I'll keep an eye out..

OMG has members from Isis, Cave In, and Converge (all bands should be heard) and create Neurosis like psychadelia combined with Isis-like noisecore and stoner-like doom. Confused yet?

I downloaded Oceanic based on what everyone was saying about it. I really hope it grows on me. The first three times I listened to it, it bored me to tears. I have a feeling though, that it will grow on me in time.

It will. Good to see your giving it a chance instead of throwing it by the wayside. Good form.

It bored me a lot too at first, but if you can't get into it then listen to it at night when you go to bed...... thats what I did, and it slowly caught on to me....

Awesome cd.... I really love the female voices in the track 1 and 4.....

The best music is the stuff that grows on you. Ineed to listen to it quite a few more times before I can decide what I think of it for sure.

welcome to the club, man. ISIS have been one of my favourite bands since Celestial came out. Oceanic and Celestial both would make my top ten all time. it's great to see people finally discovering them.

Old Man Gloom is excellent too. also check out Cult of Luna.

Oceanic is certainly one of the best record I ever heard. I could talk during an entire day about it!!!

I got it many months ago, I love it. I got Red Sea, but it was sort of noisey and awful. How's Celestial?

Damn awesome, sheer brilliance....and SGNL 05 is even better. Still, Oceanic is their best IMO

Cult of Luna is definitely on my want list. I've heard countless great things about that band.
