Anyone got one of these rack mount noise gates?

I've heard they are incredible but I'm finding it hard to justify splashing out £400 on something that effectively does nothing!

Mine introduced a pretty fucking annoying ground loop when using both channels, very frustrating, sold it. Works awesome though if you hack off the ground on a couple of your cables going into the unit or insert some sort of ground lift device in the signal path.

I got mine for like $300 US, you are getting RIPPED paying 400 pounds for that shit. Ebay dude.

I had one and sold it :( but I must admit they're fuckin awesome. Try to get one used if you can to save some cash. If you're amp has a really bad problem with noise I think it's worth it. My two cents. Remember there's always the pedal version too! :D

Go for the pedal version - Decimator G-String. Has the 4-cable setup like the Boss NS-2, but works much better and doesn't choke your cleans like the normal Decimator stompbox did if the threshold was set to high.

Is it digital and does it effect the sound_? Digital gates seem to work very well in what they supposed to do but in a digital way also. Many says stomp isp's are mafia units that give noise and later takes it back. What about the new version and the rack one?

Yeah the 2 channel pedal version is just like the rack version, if you already have pedals somewhere in your rack then go for that, way cheaper. The only reason I bought the rack version was because I wasn't using any pedals and wanted to keep everything clean in the rack, just anal about that shit haha...
