Israeli government releases tape of suicide bombing aftermath

I'm guessing that most of the dismembered extremities that are shown belonged to the bomber, right?

Highlights: The profoundly sustained shot of the bloodied yarmulche on the ground.

Also: How haunted must Jerusalem be?

i don't think so, Toby--11 dead, and I think 45 wounded; not just the bomber was dismembered.

yeah, and there was, like, a single leaf inside the yarmulke! i pictured the cameraman being like "I'll focus on this for a long time and maybe when I incorporate this into my documentary, it'll be a poignant shot that gets me an Academy Award nod! *film film film*"

I didn't see that; I'll watch it again at home (or when co-workers aren't around).

For several months now, I've been checking kazaa and websites to try to find a videotape of an actual suicide bombing. Come on, there's GOT to be one somewhere. Essentially I want to see what the shaheed does right before he/she blows up.

I dunno, you want as many people as close to you as possible when you hit the switch. I'm guessing he walks up to a crowd as nonchalantly as possible, possibly pushing up against them as if he's going to walk by, then says "Allahu akbar" and hits the switch.

Of course, if I were waiting at a bus stop in Israel and some trenchcoated Arab walked up to me like he was going to brush by, I would probably take off.

I bet that happens a lot in Israel, actually--people running from a bus stop only to stop forty feet off and trudge back sheepishly while the potential bomber--actually just a pudgy Palestinian on his way to work--glares at them angrily.
