Damn... i admit that yngwie (sp?) is talanted, but he's a dumbass. He is pompous and (IMO) unoriginal because he just ripps off classical stuff. I am not saying he NEVER writes his own stuff, but i am prejudice against him, and everything of his i have heard doesn't do anything for me. No emotion. Not cool. And i like judas priest, but i like Halford better.... it's great.

To say that Yngwie is unoriginal and just rips of classical music is just wrong. He developed the neo-classic style of play, and has directly influenced many many guitarists, including Michael Romeo.

i said In my oppinion (IMO). I don't like him. I know he influenced many people, but so did jimi hendrix, and i don't really like him. just because someone is influential doesn't mean i have to like them. And i think most people will agree he is pompus, and i didn't state anything other than my oppinion. I said he didn't rip off everything he did (re-read it if you are unsure) and i also said i am prejudice against him because i don't like him. This is true but none of them did it in exactly the same way Yngwie did. Yngwie was the first guy to do that "neoclassical" sound we all hear when we think of "neoclassical."

Yeah, I realize its your opinion that you don't like him, but the statement "he just ripps off classical stuff" is not an opinion. So I wasn't disrespecting your opinion, I just thought that the statement was unfair. Also, I've heard mixed stories about how much of an asshole this guy is. Sometimes he's threatening the throw someone off an airplane or calling the internet the fucking devil, but I've heard an equal amount of stories about how nice he was to his fans. I just had an arguement with my friend over the spelling of "douche" and I was right. I won a dollar. Its a great word.

Imagine if I did a similar thing with Dream Theater!

My advice to you then is to start acting like a mature musician and not some 15 year old flogger..Very few people take the time to learn and master the guitar, they just drop tune real low and one-finger chords under heaps of distortion with a low slung guitar. Hate Yngwie if you like, but show respect, because he is a professional musician..

I just expect more than that kind of drivel from fellow shredheads..

Though, if you were to start a thread on the mis-merits of Brittney Spears and the other pop bullshit(whose only talent is marketing and learning to sing a song someone else wrote) I would feel less strongly ..

By the way, anybody who considers a DJ a musician is ludicrist..Having a machine do all the work and the only input is to cut and paste somebody else's sample is hardly a talent.

I think you`re pretty stupid to make a thread out of this, Yngwie was a groundbreaking guitarist at his time(1983), and after all i`m pretty sure he would bash you pretty good in a guitar duel.I hope you wasn`t serious, if you weren`t , i`ll draw back most of my statements.
