It's been a while since we had a "greatest album covers" thread

Yes, Enslaved are Viking Metal, but they're progressive. These days they are Viking Dire Straits.

Not to mention BOOOOOOOORING (re: Isa, never heard Below the Lights)

whatever I've heard from Mardraum, Eld, Blodhemn, and whatever else I've heard did kick ass though!

Whatever they are I really dig Below the Lights. I don't know why I ignored it for approx. 8 months because when I listened to it back then, I definitely dug it.

i liked parts of Isa the first time I listened to it, but most of this "WHEEE WE'RE PROGRESSIVE, LOOK AT US!" stuff doesn't cut it for me. Taake, on the other hand, if you want to call that progressive, then HELL YEAH!

Below the Lights is awesome. It's much better (and significantly darker) than Isa. I don't know why the world fell on their knees for Isa. I dunno, Terroizer give it a good review and everyone seems to lose their own judgement....

If Isa is a 6.5/10, then BtL is an 8/10.

Vikingligr >>>>>>>>>>>> all other Enslaved (without question)

I need to hear Vikingligr, and judging from uhhh, that thing in the uh, poop, I probably will. *uncontrollable spazmatic winking*

Vikingligr >>>>>>>>>>>> all other Enslaved (without question)

Obviously, but all Enslaved is high quality through and through. I don't understand what's NOT to like about Isa. I think it has quite a few good rockin' tunes.

P.S. no yuo.

METAL ARCHIVES OWNS JOO! The Hawkwind and Psychotic Waltz covers really row my boat though.

I saw this album in a CD shop, and almost picked it up. I'm glad I didn't.

It shows some promise despite lacking a lot of the songwriting necessary to propel it from the realm of a couple of good ideas into that of a truly good, solid album! Maybe you shoulda given it a try, if you're REALLY into the style of music you might have liked it?

Nah, I don't drool over that style of music, or anything of the sort. I was just tempted to pick up a Falkenbach album because of all the buzz that surrounds them.
