It's official.

I wish I could be excited about this, but it's not the same without Mike. EVH is Van Halen, but Mike was always the heart of the band.

He was a founding member and played bass on every release...how is this a reunion? It's a last ditch effort to pull some revenue from the name before they're all but forgotten by the younger audience...which is fine...but it's not a reunion.

Man, Eddie and his bro must be monster pricks.

Sobolewski is out.
Quit bitching.
Remember, Eddie also sang background so maybe he and Wolfie could pull this off.
We will have to wait and see.

On the other hand, DLR's vocals are a thing you should be concerned about.
On the other other hand, it is fucking CLASSIC VAN HALEN, THE SONGS FROM 1978 TO 1984. ROCK AND ROLL. Who needs a singer?
Get drunk and yell "GOT IT BAD, GOT IT BAD, GOT IT BAD, I'M HOT FOR TEACHER!!!", that's what's it all about.
:kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass:

P.S. If it happens.

Wolfgang may be a great bass player and singer, I wouldn't know. I've never heard him play. He may be great, but he's not Michael Anthony. While I recognize EVH's right to choose who he wants to work with, I have a right to stay home and not give this "reunion tour" my support or my money.

As a fan, I, along with MANY others, have waited more than 20 years for a reunion of the original lineup. This isn't what I've been waiting for.

Having said that, if I scored FREE tickets, Which is possible (I know a guy who knows a guy:lol: ) I would probably go.

I would rather see them with Sammy and Mike. At least the quality of the vocals wouldn't be in question.

And, as far as Eddie singing backup...he lost half his tongue to cancer a few years ago. That may prevent him from being able to sing much. I could be wrong, but who knows at this point what he's capable of.

Well, we all have our rights... Especially in America.
But, the important sentences are:

We will have to wait and see.

I wouldn't know.

Try to give it a chance.
I am not saying it will be great, or even good. I am just glad that DLR is back and I want to see if they will be able to pull it off.
It is not an "almost" reunion of UFO or Tuff or Huomma Huamma or some other band (strangely, Anthrax came to my mind).
It is VAN HALEN.

It is going to be big, be it a big train wreck, I hope that everyone dies... :kickass:

Sharon should be shot for destroying those two classic recordings. That was ground breaking and influential guitar work...classic riffs...that stuff was sacred...how could they defile it like that...it should have always remained original material. Sure it doesn't have any bearing on the guitar recording, but that's not the point. Don't mess with the classics.

Couldn't agree more. Nothing is sacred in music anymore.

Why not replace John Lennon's vocals and photos on Abbey Road with Yoko Ono?!

Seems the Van Haters are trying to remove Michael Anthony from the writing credits now! What a shame! I hope this "reunion" is well worth it! They just seem to keep embarassing themselves.:puke:
