Autumn and spring, my fav seasons of the year.
Winter brings cold snow and i do not like snow.
Autumn, best time of year to go out and walk the Woods of Gorp & Roovert.
During wwII that particular part of the woods between the dutch and belgian border, were smuggler routes and the germans executed 5 men, at the 15th of august 1942, in the woods of Gorp & Roovert. There are still leftovers:
There's a house with watchtower in the middle of the woods, a huge doorknocker on the heavy wooden door and a watchtower right next to it. The lamps and ornaments make it complete. A huge Sagittarius on a tile is part of it's walls. I wanna live there, it's perfect! A bedroom with a view!!
Some say it haunts in Gorp & Roovert.
It has a certain kind of gutfeeling walking those grounds, especially when you come there for more than 2 years already, and somehow always park the car at the same spot, walk along the same watchtower-house, walk straight into
that execution spot and still you get lost there, no matter how long or short your walk will be! It happend to us last sunday!
Still, i love it there and especially in autumn.

We have no autumn here. It gets cool around Halloween, and everything turns brown and dies. *moves to Seattle*
Autumn is my favorite as well. When we lived in Brabant we would go for long walks in the woods. Fantastic to see the colors and stroll through the leaves. The last few years the weather here in the Netherlands during autumn can be fantastic.
