Tampa, Florida. This picture above is the hotel where I'll be staying.

The gig in Chicago ends next week ('orrible snowy weather), and the following week I start in Florida at 3 days per week until mid-January.

Well, I'll be going home every week to NY, so I'll be living hot Mon-Wed, and cold Thurs-Sun. Eeiiirwds.

Funnier still, if my project in Chicago extends me, I may have to fly between NY, Chicago, and Tampa all in one week. Can you imagine having to pack for all that every sunday night? Scarf, gloves, and swimming shorts. :loco:

Enjoy the humidity, old retired Jew. Well at least you get your palm trees now. :loco:

Ahh the old retired jews are everywhere in Florida, especially over the winter months. Damn, they go all over that part of the world for the winter. I remember I went to Aruba once with the wife, and it was like we were in Noo Joisey surrounded by thousands of Jerry Seinfeld's parents.

With that said, I would happily sit down to a nice dinner with Mel Brooks and Larry David, and talk about the wonders of Young Frankenstein and Curb your Enthusiasm.

That reminds me, I finally watched a few episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, my bandmates are huge fans or Larry David. Without a doubt, that show is Pure Comedy Gold.

"why haven't you learned to use the navigation system in your car?"
"I dunno, I thought someone would... teach me."

I will buy the Curb Your Enthusiasm DVD boxsets. Oh yes. They are FILLED with brilliance -- honestly it's just another reason to have HBO. You HAVE to see the last season where Larry David has been hand selected by Mel Brooks to take the lead role in "The Producers" stage play. His first side-kick taking Gene Wilder's role is Ben Stiller, but he can't take LD so they get David Shwimmer. It is just Jew city, and hilarious, especially when Mel Brooks keeps showing up!

That reminds me, I bought "The Office" boxsets the other day. Season 1 + 2 + special feature length episode.

i am still not clear on what exactly you do ... and you explained it to me numerous times :D
do you sell Oreck vacuums or something? ;)

Nah, I just use them to clean the hotel I stay at. :loco:

So just what the fuck do you do that forces you to travel all year?
I only travel if my projects are out of state. Otherwise, they're local gigs, or I just work from home. (I'm an IT consultant for one of the 'big 5', and I help build CRM solutions). This year, I've travelled a total of about 18 weeks, the rest all. from. home. Last year, I spent the entire year working locally which was cool. It's all a trade off - travel vs work from home, or 9-5 everyday in the same office, ugh.....the thought of doing the latter just kills me, but sooner or later, I guess I'll have to... :erk:

Yeah, and people wonder why I want to become a truck driver or forest ranger or some shits. Mundane office jobs suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

if you don't make close to $120K doing that ... come over and I'll beat you
No comment. :loco: The wife used to work for one of the big 5 too, before the kids arrived, so that dual income ruled. Now though, every penny counts....damn this cost of NY living! :yell:

I've actually thought about moving back to London and working for the MI5. No kidding. If I'm going to stay white collared, I quite like the idea of a role in investigative research (especially coming from consulting).

P.S. My greencard turned up yesterday. Only took five damn years, and now here I am thinking about leaving....

I've thought about working for the government, but then I always remember I hate the government and would rather be a political radical. Of course I could always be the inside man for a revolutionary group... :dopey:
