Hi,

This is my jackson (pic is from the web)

StreamImage.aspx

It's time for a pickup change and also a heavier string gauge:

I do tune in C --> C-F-A♯-D♯-G-C
Now I have ernie ball 2626 not even slinky on my guitar with the standard seymour duncans.
--> 012/016/024p/032/044/056 strings

Is my string gauge good for this tuning? Would d'addario 148 fit in this guitar ? gauges: 012-016-020-034-046-060 . Would that be better in sound ?

I'm looking for pickups like seymour duncan blackout.
Which version blackout would match/fit with my jackson guitar (wood etc.) ?
Or do you have any other suggestion for pickup's ? I don't want emg's, because I have them already in other guitars.

thanx in advance for your advise

The strings you have on it should be fine in that tuning, if you like how they feel, then stick with them, if you want a bit heavier, go with the other ones - No one can tell you what you'll like or won't like :p

As for pickups, I'm not a huge fan of actives, and would much rather stick with the stock Duncans, though I do much prefer the Blackouts to EMGs. I have a pair of BKP Nailbombs in my SL2H and they sound great:

damn that guitar looks awesome !
I've ordered a d'addario 148 set. Don't know about the pickups yet. I'm used to play with emg's in my other guitars but I want something different now.
Just don't know what matches best in this guitar. My first thoughts were the blackout pickup. But I don't know which version would fit best. And I have no idea for a neck pickup that would match too.
