fine the man was a twat but he had 40 years of successful carrear which is more than any metal band...even more than most prog bands

you gotta respect that

*sigh*

he was an excellent performer and a passionate singer with soul (no pun). he had a lot of good moments in his music. you may not like anything about him, thats fine. but then stay the fck away from the thread for those who want to show some kind of reverence ffs

How does anyone even dignify that statement? I know, should just ignore it, but I can't. James Brown influenced music across the board. If you don't realize that, your a fuckin' idiot.

lmao, anyone who has heard anything whatsoever about his non-music life would know that his statement was perfectly justified. He's a legendary domestic abuser, for starters ^_^ No amount of great music can ever take that "dick" title away from him (and vice-versa), and the comment didn't imply anything regarding his music being terrible, just about his person being terrible.

I'm going to miss those crazy interviews and stunts he pulled, like that interview in the 80s where he had the wild sunglasses on singing "Living In America" and Papa's got a brand new bag, it was on VH1's Webjunk.
