If you actually think you're the one being laughed at, then maybe you are the idiot.

i dont think either of them get it, by the way nice name, ride the puppets would have sounded pretty stupid

I thought he was a troll, but no troll would spend so much fucking time pouring his emotions on to a fucking messageboard.

Far better live than in the studio, like most thrash vocalists. Now he'd make a pretty decent blues-rock singer, but his voice is fucked when it comes to metal. Doesn't have the aggression needed for thrash.

actually his live vocals are pretty horrible. i trust youve heard binge and purge...he sounds pretty bad on that. but he does sound good on the seattle concert video.

yeah i didn't really see what you were getting at saying there better live, he can hardy keep up with some songs live.

For once, I have to agree with Doden's. And damnit, I though that bald guy was gonna stop posting once he got that gay ass "artist's responsibilities" thread off his chest. All I have to say about it is (and you guys will think its lame but fuck it), what a goddamn poser.

Well, hes partly right. New Metallica is not thrash, and that must be what he meant. Maybe he hasnt even heard old Metallica.

The best? Meh - I prefer Mustaine.

Ew. Imagine a pre-pubescent Macaulay Culking singing to Thrash metal and you get Dave Mustaine.

First off he has an awful voice, and secondly displays no range whatsover. Hettfield pwns Mustaine as a vocalist.

Wow...people actually believe that?

Hetfield was never really what I would class as a singer, but he certainly fit their style and I liked what he did. He's not in the same class as Bruce Dickinson or Ronnie James Dio though.

Mustaine has an awful voice?

If you're comparing him to Freddie Mercury then I'll accept that but not to that waste of space Hetfield. I don't mind early Metallica but fuck, it's nothing special

If we're talking about singing on their most recent works, then I would say that Mustaine does indeed beat Hetfield.

I mean, compare the System has Failed vocals - for all their unspectacular nasalness - to St Anger (fran-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-toc) = GODAWFUL.

And as for Mustaine being a pre-pubescent Macaulay Culkin, yeah fair play, but Hetfield hardly sounds the mature one whining "I'm madly in anger with you".

I think the conclusion to make is simply this - not a great singer, fitted well with their early material. End of.

Hettfield has range and can actually sing to the point where 13 year old EMO lovers will want to fuck him. Mustaine is just an ugly motherfucker with the 13 year old boys voice.
