That's right.

I'll be at Quimby's bookstore (1854 W. North Ave.), on November 5th, reading fiction and creative nonfiction. Can anyone give me the lowdown on Quimby's? Never been there before...

I've never heard of the place, so I can't help you there sorry. Are you going to be reading for children, or is it like an adult "book club" sort of thing?

It's adult-oriented. I'm on tour with a friend who has a book out, and my book'll be coming out next year. It's just like touring for an album...but it's a book. :D

Cool deal, what's your book about?

It's short stories + novella, so it's about a lot of different stuff. More information will follow nearer to its release date, which is Spring '06. I'm touring right now to spread my name around, though. :headbang:

Quimby's is an alternative / small press bookstore located in the heart of hipster central...Wicker Park. It's rather small and carries a modest amount of your non-mainstream comics, graphic novels, magazines, and books.

I lived in Wicker Park for several years and have been to Quimby's on a number of occasions, its a decent store depending on your taste in books and the neighborhood has alot to offer. Restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs are in abundance and all within walking distance of the North/ Damen/ Milwaukee area.

If you have time to kill you might want to check out the House of Monsters in the Flat Iron Building on Milwaukee Ave. its a horror / sci- fi collectables store, open on Saturdays and Sundays only.

My old band used to play in that area all the time in the back music room of this Mexican restaurant called the BIG HORSE. Good place for quick and cheap Mexican food too.

Also, there is a RECKLESS Records on Milwaukee.
